Arctic Risk Platform
The Arctic needs to be taken seriously.
The Arctic isn’t just the canary in the coal mine when it comes to climate change
and its consequences. It’s a major player that could disrupt every plan, undo every piece of progress, and undermine our ability to secure the future.
The UN Climate Week took place on 19 September 2022, where the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be discussed by delegates from around the world. It’s a whole big thing, they even brought in Blackpink and Priyanka Chopra to talk about the importance of SDGs. We wanted the Arctic to be part of those conversations and link the progress relating to the SDGs to the Arctic.
I created a captivating visual to grab the world’s most critical readers, those scrolling the New York Times digital edition. For the Arctic Risk Platform, which earned the front masthead during UN Climate Week, each SDG pictogram became a striking iceberg, making the data both memorable and impactful.
We launched a commemorative version of the website to coincide with the special media buy. Visitors got to read how the health of the Arctic affects each and every SDG, ultimately raising awareness for the Arctic Risk Platform and all the work they do.
